Borcycle™ UF582SA-90

Positive Plastics KIT1

What is it?

This is a white, high gloss, 55% post-consumer recycled content (PCR) Polypropylene (PP) grade. The recycled content is processed with an advanced mechanical recycling technology called Borcycle™ M. This process, developed by Borealis, assures high-quality recycled grades that can be light-coloured and still overcome impurities and odour challenges.

Technical benefits

It has high heat resistance, high flow, antistatic performance, and other properties similar to the Borealis virgin grade HF700SA.

Look and feel

White, high-gloss grade.

Environmental benefits

By using a recyclate, you are immediately contributing to a lower emission of CO₂ in the environment, as well as reducing the waste material that ends up in either a landfill or incineration facilities.

Applications

This material was developed especially for household applications, home appliances, and small consumer appliances. Examples include water kettles, coffee machines, and vacuum cleaners. The material is intended for injection moulding.

Why we chose this material

White and high gloss in a recyclate is something very rare to find!

Why you should consider this material

It is difficult to find a high-gloss white polymer with high recycled content. Manufacturers commonly lighten up grey recyclates by adding titanium dioxide. However, this can jeopardise or negatively affect mechanical properties and result in a negative sustainable impact. This high-gloss white grade achieves good mechanical properties while maintaining purity and quality aesthetics.
